An excellent programme of social functions will be put together for the conference that promises delegates and their partners a tantalizing taste of some of the great locations, cuisine and performance art of Hanoi and Vietnam.
WELCOME RECEPTION
All delegates, registered accompanying persons and exhibitors are invited to attend the official Welcome Reception. This is an excellent opportunity to renew old friendships and make new acquaintances as we welcome you to Hanoi. Join the welcome reception at the 80 meter long pool side at the most popular five stars hotel in Hanoi. With a warm atmosphere, traditional Vietnamese music and canapes this will be great way to start a successful FIG Working Week and enjoy the arrival to the lovely city Hanoi.
VIETNAMESE EVENING / OPERA PERFORMANCE
The Cultural Evening has gradually become an indispensable part of a FIG conference week. This year our local host has decided that all delegates, accompanying persons and exhibitors are invited to the Opera House for a special concert, where 50 musicians will perform traditionally Vietnamese music and popular symphonies with folk and ethnic instruments such as monochord, zither, bamboo xylophone, flutes, etc. There will be two performances, please indicate in the registration which performance you prefer to attend. FIRST PERFORMANCE - 18:30-20:30 Arrival 18:30-19:00 SECOND PERFORMANCE - 20:30-22:30 Arrival: 20:30-21:00 The Opera House was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. Its design is strongly influenced by the French architecture style from 19th century. The front facade impresses passerby with French neo-classical design shuttered windows, wrought iron balconies and tiled friezes. The interior design of Hanoi Opera overwhelms visitors with T-shape white marble staircase centered with red carpet, crystal chandeliers, large wall mirrors, Corinthian columns and colorful dome by colorful murals and reliefs. The participants will be welcomed by a small cocktail reception with Vietnamese finger food. While enjoying the food you can visit an exhibition of traditional Vietnamese items. During the evening you will enjoy a special concert with the harmony of traditional and modern melodies. Before the start of the concert, the President of the FIG Foundation and a representative from Trimble will make a speech. FAREWELL RECEPTIONDate: Friday, April 26 After the closing ceremony, gather for a drink and snacks to conclude the busy week with friends and have a taste of the forthcoming FIG Conference, which will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
